Maximum efficiency of conversion of electrical energy to laser radiation energy permits to achieve 20 kW of output power in CW operation and pulse energy up to 100 kJ.
CO2 lasers are referred to the class of molecular gas lasers emitting on vibrational transitions of CO2 molecules in the IR regions of spectrum at 9-10 um. As a rule, all lasers operate on a mixture of CO2:N2: He in different proportions with an addition of a small quantity of Xe.
