Thyratrons and Spark Gaps

We offer more than 60 different models of OEM Pulse Power Switches and Surge Arresters such as Thyratrons and Spark Gaps. Essential diversity of these devices – from small-size Spark Gap Arresters to high-power Thyratrons – determines their vast applications in such fields as radio/telecommunication and navigation industries, aerospace industry, construction of the sophisticated medical and scientific pulse equipment, wide range of pulse power supplies, lightning protection systems as well as equipment used for security purposes.

General Pulse Power Product Line

Thyratrons (Cathode-Heated Hydrogen) 
are used in such devices as radars with different power levels, high-power pulsed technical, electrophysical, medical devices and laser apparatus is a proof of a high quality of devices. Sophisticated design and high quality ceramic-metal envelope determines long lifetime and very accurate and reliable operation of thyratrons under vide range of environmental conditions.

Spark Gap Switches (Triggered)
are ceramic-metal sealed off gas discharge trigatron-type devices with a co-axial trigger electrode. These Gas Discharge Tubes contain no mercury and, due to an advanced design, feature high reliability and a long lifetime being operating under wide range of environmental conditions.

Spark Gap Switches (Untriggered)
are used in pulsed circuits of devices with enhanced demands to switching speed, break-down voltage stability and a level of power maintenance.
The devices feature an extremely small size, they are capable of operation under complicated climatic and mechanic conditions (for example, at temperatures up to +250 0C), and have an established reputation of reliability for use in ignition systems for aircraft jet engines, pulsed and other kinds of pulse apparatus.

Spark Gap Surge Arresters
are designed to protect automated telephone stations and other radioelectronic installations against transient dangerous overvoltages. Small size Surge Arresters manufactured by PLASMA, JSC are available in a ceramic-metal envelope and contain no radioactive materials. Electrodes are fabricated from copper or iron-nickel alloys and are activated by barium and cesium salts. These Surge Arrestors are manufactured either with two or three leads enabling simultaneous protection of symmetric lines.

Spark Gap Sharpeners
This type of Two-Electrode ceramic-metal Spark Gaps of high pressure comes in a sealed-off package and is mainly designed to be used for triggering applications in:
- portable X-ray non-destructive testing systems for defectoscopy of metal structures
- high-power pulse medical instrumentation
- electro-optic converters
- high-speed photogaphy
- accelerating systems.
